Welcome to the Science Department
At NUAST the science of learning meets the art of teaching. With a team of enthusiastic and experienced teachers who are passionate about how the material, living and physical worlds work.
The NUAST science faculty are specialists who can break down complicated and abstract concepts to make them accessible and memorable for pupil understanding. Distinctive student centered learning activities and assessments are planned to allow a personalised learning experience for each pupil. Differentiated strategies support every student to make rapid and sustained progress.
We have a strong belief in the importance of application of theoretical and practical approaches to the understanding of science. NUAST has excellent equipment and facilities; in addition to having strong links with universities and industry where pupils gain a genuine flavor of how science works every day.
These unique opportunities inspire pupils to pursue their aspirations and win accolades from both industry and university.
A strong foundation in both independent study and problem solving has allowed pupils to develop their love of learning and unlock their limitless potential.
Pupils leave NUAST scientifically literate allowing them to make informed, and reasoned decisions in their futures.
The Science department at NUAST offers GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. A Levels studied are Biology, Chemistry and Physics. We also offer students the opportunity to study and Extended Diploma in Applied Science which is the equivalent to 3 A-Levels.
