Year 10 & Year 12 Induction Days Confirmed for Summer 2016
Applicants for September 2016 have been invited to attend a taster day at NUAST before the school year commences. The date of the Year 10 Taster day will be 7th July 2016 from 9am-3pm.
The Taster Days will form an important part of student’s time at NUAST, allowing them to get to know their new peers before September, meet staff and familiarize themselves with the academy day, expectations and the building.
Future students will have the opportunity to take part in engaging STEM activities in NUAST’s state of the art facilities, allowing them to experience a typical day at the academy. Students will also be measured for their business dress on these dates.
It is important that all parents of Year 10 applicants receive permission from their child’s current school before confirming their attendance at their Taster Day. A full programme and details of the event will be sent to all parents in due course..
Induction days will then be held in August 2016 for enrolment and the collection of NUAST business dress.
Students and parents/carers will have to complete the enrolment process and collect NUAST business dress, which should take no longer than 30 minutes. It is important that students attend to collect their business dress as this will be delivered to NUAST during the Summer holidays.
NUAST will be open for enrolment: 22nd August to the 2nd September 8.30am – 4.30pm (weekdays) with a daily school tour at 12.00pm.
Year 12
All Year 12 applicants for September 2016 have been invited to attend a transition day at NUAST on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th July 2016.
The programme will include:
-
the opportunity to undertake a STEM-related project
-
an introduction to independent research skills
-
a visit to Nottingham University
-
the chance to meet and work with other students joining NUAST in September
Students will spend a full day at NUAST and will also have the chance to attend a workshop at the University of Nottingham, one of NUAST’s education partners.
On Thursday, parents have been warmly invited to NUAST to see for themselves what students have done throughout the two days. The presentation will take place between 3.30 – 4.30pm.
Current applicants will be contacted shortly to reserve their place on one of the above events.
NUAST will be open for enrolment: 22nd August to the 2nd September 8.30am – 4.30pm (weekdays) with a daily school tour at 12.00pm.
