Perse Coding Challenge Success

The results of the second round of the Perse Coding Team Challenge were released today and a number of NUAST students achieved Distinction and Merit grades.

Teams qualified for the challenge by achieving Distinction in Round 1 earlier in the year.

Out of the students that took part one team scored a Merit and another a Distinction.

Students worked in groups of three to solve a number of programming challenges. Teams could choose from a range of programming languages for their solutions although Python was a popular choice.

Mr Wood, Head of Computing commented: "A big congratulations to both of our teams this year. They did really well to make it to the second round and even better to achieve such high scores."

The Perse Challenge is part of a calendar of programming events for secondary age students called UKCT Challenges, which includes the Bebras challenge that students entered earlier in the year. The challenges eventually lead up to the British Informatics Olympiad. More information about the challenge pathway can be found here: https://ukctchallenges.org/

Well done to all those involved.
