NUAST VEX Robotics Team Success

NUAST's VEX Robotics team had a successful weekend, attending two events and coming away with the coveted Excellence Award.

Both our KS4/5 and KS3 teams attended separate events over the weekend at King Henry VIII School in Coventry and competed against dozens of other schools.

A team from KS3 were presented with the Excellence Award for exemplary performance in the competition, robot design and programming and have earned themselves a place at the UK National Finals in March 2023. A number of our other teams also placed highly in each of their respective competitions.

Mr Wood, Head of Computing commented: "A massive congratulations to our winning team. They have made huge improvements to their design and worked really hard in just a few short weeks. It has paid off for them at this competition. We are looking forward to competing at a national level in March."

The VEX Robotics Competition is an international robotics challenge that sees teams of students design, build and program robots to complete a timed task against other schools. This years challenge, Slapshot, asks teams to collect disc objects and slide them as far as possible to score points.
