Let the competitions begin!
Teams of NUAST students are working towards two competitions this year:
F1 in Schools - This international competition brings teams from all over the world competing to design and build the fasted C02 powered car. These cars reach speeds of up to 90 MPH making the design of the vehicles mechanics and aerodynamics vital! Using industrial standard 3D CAD software, students will design these cars before testing them the departments wind tunnel. will we have some budding F1 engineers taking up the challenge.
Green Power - In this National competition Year 12 students are designing and building an electric car which will compete against others to see who can design the most fuel efficient machine. Racing around iconic tracks around the country our students will have to use all their knowledge of engineering to make the standard components work better than any other team in the pits.
