Year 8 Girls Success
A team of Year 8 girls from NUAST have qualified for the next round of the National Cyber Security Centre's CyberFirst competition.
The girls were amongst 600 other teams that took part from across the UK in a series of online challenges of problem solving, programming and mathematics.
Our team were in the top 12 schools in the East Midlands and were invited to De Montford University at the weekend for the regional final. The girls then had to compete in this second round against the other top scoring teams in the region in the hope of being crowned a national champion.
The National Cyber Security Centre is home to GCHQ who provide security to the UK's digital infrastructure.
Mr Wood, Head of Computing commented: "Congratulations to our girls who have qualified for the next round of this challenging competition. We are really pleased that they have got so far and hope that they can take their computer science and problem solving skills with them to their future careers."
