NUAST celebrates its best ever GCSE results

NUAST is celebrating its best ever GCSE results with amazing individual achievements and very strong overall figures.
NUAST students have achieved well above the national average across all subjects with Maths, Science and Engineering results proving to be particularly strong. Early indications suggest that NUAST will be in the top 20% of schools nationally for Maths and 80% of students securing a grade C or above in Triple Science. Engineering students achieved a 90% pass rate or better with 100% of students gaining an A*-B in Systems Control.
With 45% of students gaining a strong pass (grade B or above) in English and Maths, NUAST is again amongst the very highest performing secondary schools within the city.
NUAST principal Bob White said:
These are the best results ever at NUAST and I am incredibly proud of all our students. Following our 'Good' Ofsted Judgment earlier this year, to see the hard work and commitment of our students pay off in such a spectacular fashion really confirms that NUAST is delivering on its promise to be Nottingham's leading high performing STEM specialist Academy.
Now with NUAST accepting Year 7 students from across the city and county from September 2018, the state-of-the-art facilities and specialist teaching will be available to an event wider group of students.
Harry Graham (16) from Hucknall celebrated his Grade 9 in Maths which places him in a very exclusive group of students nationally.
"I'm more than over the moon. I'm ready for the next chapter at NUAST to study Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science!"
Chole Taylor (16) from Selston (right of picture) was delighted with her results:
"I'd hoped to do well but I've done much better than expected. I'm now hoping to start an Equine apprenticeship in the Autumn".
