VEX Robotics team win trophy

The NUAST VEX Robotics teams entered two regional events over the weekend that saw them compete against teams from local schools. The events were hosted by King Henry VIII School in Coventry.

This year the competition sees students collecting as many ball objects as they can in a minute. Students have to design, build and program their robots at school before taking them to a competition.

Nearly 40 students across Year 8, 9, 10 and 12 took part.

Mr Wood, Head of Computing said "it was great to see so many of our Computing students taking part in the VEX Robotics Competition this weekend. All students worked really hard as a team. Robotics is a great way for students to see programming in action and we hope that many of them will take it up as a career."

One team of Year 8 students came away with the Judges Award for best all-round team. Well done!

Our students are competing again this Saturday and again in January. Please check the school calendar for upcoming dates.
